The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a great tool for students considering college. The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills and writing skills. Union County High School recommends that 10th grade students take the PSAT/NMSQT in order to receive feedback about strengths and weaknesses, enter the competition for National Merit Scholar scholarships (11th graders), and to help prepare for the SAT. The PSAT can only be taken once a year, so don’t miss this opportunity!
Click to register for the NMQST
Students in 11th grade at Union County High School must register in advance using your UCHS email account.

Registration Information:
Registration & Fee Payment Deadline:  September 5,  2023
Exam Date: Wednesday, October  2, 2023
Cost: $18 for all 11th Grade Students
*********************
All 10th Grade students will take the PSAT at no cost and do not need to register.
*No refunds will be issued after the October 2, 2023 registration deadline.
By taking the PSAT/NMSQT as a junior, students may meet the requirements to enter the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. Additionally, the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT 10 connect students to another $300 million in college scholarships for students across major demographics.
