UPDATED Tips on applying for HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship:

  • To be eligible for the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship you must apply!
  • We recommend that you fill out BOTH the FAFSA and the Georgia Student Finance Application. The GSF application is good for 7 years and you will not have to apply for HOPE again once you submit it. FAFSA is only good for 1-year and you must reapply every year to see what other forms of financial aid you may be eligible for in addition to HOPE/Zell.
  • The Georgia Student Finance application can be found on www.gafutures.org under the HOPE & State Aid Programs link.
  • If you think you might be eligible for the Zell Miller Scholarship, in addition to filling out the application, you must send your qualifying test score (SAT 1200+ or ACT 26+).
  • Students with a College Board SAT score report may upload a copy of the score report to GSFC.
  • Students with an ACT score may request ACT electronically send their score report to GSFC. Student records are updated with received test score reports within 3-5 business days.
  • To upload your SAT score report using the GAfutures' Document Upload feature, follow these steps:
  1. Print your test score report from College Board’s website for the SAT.
  2. Sign, date and write this statement on the report: "This is a true and exact copy of the original score report."
  3. Save your document(s) as one file (Acceptable file types are: pdf, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp,).
  4. Sign in to your GAfutures account and select Document Upload, located on the left-hand side of the page. 5. Select the Document Type: SAT scores.
